Attorney Jessica K. Miles is a graduate of the University of New Mexico-School of Law and recipient of the Jerrold L Walden Award and Clinical Honors. Jessica pursues many forms of advocacy on behalf of migrants, including legal, political, and policy advocacy. She is a co-founder of the Borderland Immigration Council (BIC), which is a bi-national coalition of attorneys, non-profits and NGOs committed to documenting human rights abuses at the border and advocating for migrants' rights at all levels of government. She has been featured in several articles regarding the situation at the border due to her work on the frontlines of immigration advocacy since 2014. In January of 2019, Jessica opened her own immigration law firm to focus on meeting the needs of her clients and their families and expanding her immigration policy advocacy. "Above all," Jessica states, "my number one priority is to empower immigrants and families to make choices for themselves and provide quality representation so that they can feel more secure in their choices."
Case manager Erika Mendez is a graduate of New Mexico State University and has over 5 years of experience in working with and advocating for immigrants in and out of detention. She is passionate about helping families understand the immigration process and working with victims of crimes.
